Kaiser Permanente Medical Centers Recognized for Outstanding Stroke Care

Kaiser Permanente’s outstanding stroke care has once again earned our San Rafael and Santa Rosa hospitals high honors from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. AHA/ASA has featured our hospitals in their 2018 U.S. News & World Report “Best Hospitals” congratulatory ad.

Research show that participation in Get With The Guidelines is associated with better patient outcomes, and both hospitals received Gold Plus Achievement status for stroke care. These Kaiser Permanente hospitals are recognized for two or more consecutive years of 85% or higher adherence on all applicable achievement measures and 75% or higher adherence with additional select quality measures.

And when a stroke occurs, better outcomes are also associated with time to treatment. The KP San Rafael and Santa Rosa Hospital are recognized with the Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus for 75% or higher of their door-to-needle times within 60 minutes and 50% achievement of door-to-needle times within 45 minutes.

This is tangible evidence of the hospital teams’ commitment to the highest standards of patient care and leadership in evidence-based treatment and quality care for heart disease and stroke patients.
