Dominican Program Connects Collegiate Athletes, Schoolchildren
featured Dominican’s Allen Sports Club, which provides a free afterschool sports program for Marin County middle school students three days a week. The students are primarily from San Rafael’s Davidson Middle School and Venetia Valley (camp staff pick up and drop off students from both schools). About 30 Dominican athletes volunteer in the sports club, which was created in 2015 by trustee emeritus John F. Allen.

Dominican University President Addresses Trump’s ‘Alarming’ Statements
Dominican University of California President Nicola Pitchford wrote a Marin Voice article expressing concern about the future of the U.S. Department of Education. About 30 percent of Dominican’s undergraduates qualify for Pell Grants. The university is a federally recognized Minority Serving Institution. Each year Dominican provides more than $30 million in institutional aid to 99% of undergraduates.
