Tyler Hedden currently holds the position of Chief Executive Officer for St. Joseph Health Sonoma County, after serving two years as Chief Operating Officer, assuming the top executive’s post for one of Sonoma County’s largest non-profit employers.  He started his career as a nurse assistant where he learned how important the front-line caregiver role is in the overall care and healing of patients. Mr. Hedden maintains a steadfast commitment to the caregiver, the patient, and the mission of Catholic health care to increase access to quality, safe and affordable care for all, especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

Mr. Hedden has been in healthcare leadership for over twenty years having received his Masters Degree in healthcare administration from Washington University in St. Louis with a fellowship in healthcare administration at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, MI.  He has executive leadership experience in the insurance, medical group and hospital settings.

Mr. Hedden uses his knowledge he has gained over the years to advocate and educate the public on health. Mr. Hedden has remained steadfast in doing his utmost to protect the community from disease and infection. During the entire COVID-19 pandemic he has remained on the front lines as a voice for public health and safety.

Mr. Hedden and his wife Elizabeth have three girls and reside in Santa Rosa, CA.  He appreciates the outdoor activities Sonoma County offers including mountain biking and hiking, and enjoys spending time with his girls, watching them compete in their multiple athletic endeavors.
