The Venture Greenhouse Graduates Two Ventures, and Welcomes Two New Ventures.
One year ago, the Venture Greenhouse launched with its first beta clients. After one year our experiment in green business acceleration appears to be a resounding success. The Venture Greenhouse successfully graduated its first two clients, Next Phase Solar and Illumalighting(now Evolvelectric).
Lindsay Hassett, a graduating client, recalls her year with the Venture Greenhouse: “In the last year I've been here at the Venture Greenhouse I have considerably grown personally and professionally. I walked in the doors with passion for energy efficient lighting, developed a business, and sold it to a great partner. I will always look back at the [Venture Greenhouse] and remember the beginnings of my successful career started with a desk inside the walls of the nation’s first Eco business accelerator.”
Illumalighting was acquired by Evolvelectric in October. Lindsay is serving as their Director of Lighting Sales.
Adam Burstein, the President of Next Phase Solar, another graduating client, said, “I have enjoyed my experience at the Greenhouse. I have learned from the founders, consultants and clients many lessons about business and group processes.” Next Phase Solar achieved their funding goals through the support of the Venture Greenhouse and moved their headquarters to Berkeley.
The Venture Greenhouse is also pleased to announce the arrival of two new client ventures: Cadtrak Engineering and Urban Algae. We look forward to helping them grow in the next year.
