There's no question that Bay Area business is booming, but a large part of that success is due to women-owned business in the region, our research has found.
Our annual List ranks privately held, women-owned businesses headquartered in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco and San Mateo counties, and the city of Palo Alto, by 2015 revenue. To qualify, List companies must be 51 percent or more women owned. Want to find out what business was at the top of the List?
Overall, women-owned businesses on the List contributed more than $4 billion to the local economy last year and employ more than 60,000 people.
