TekTailor, Inc., a Santa Rosa based textile & sewing business, is now creating unique and purposeful products made with materials diverted from the landfill. During a press conference at Sonoma Raceway on May 25, TekTailor, Inc. publicly launched its new brand “Sonoma-USA” and announced its first exciting partnership with Sonoma Raceway, that will allow race fans and community members to own one-of-a-kind, locally-made products created from materials previously used at the raceway. Sonoma-USA also unveiled a Kickstarter (link to: http://kck.st/22p5Vxv) crowdfunding campaign with the goal of introducing its mission and products to a broader audience.
In an effort to become a model in sustainable textile and apparel manufacturing, Sonoma-USA combines community resources and teams up with local businesses, like Sonoma Raceway, to ensure that materials like used banners, billboards and other scrap or overstock fabrics don’t end up in the garbage but are reused and upcycled into new products.
To further give back to the community, a percentage from every product Sonoma-USA sells will be donated to local charities. For the partnership with Sonoma Raceway, a percentage of the sales from products made with Sonoma Raceway materials will go to the Sonoma chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities, the raceway’s charitable arm.
