Redwood Credit Union donates $100,000 to the SAY Dream Center
We are SO grateful to Redwood Credit Union for donating to the SAY Dream Center campaign! Redwood Credit Union is well known in our community as a source of affordable financial services, and they’re celebrating their 65th anniversary this year. In addition to serving nearly 250,000 people locally with financial services, Robin McKenzie, Senior Vice President of Marketing & Communications, explains that RCU chose to support SAY’s Dream Center capital campaign because they are committed to giving back and creating a healthy community.
“We like to support organizations that help provide basic needs like housing and food, ensuring that our community is healthy. SAY’s programs fit right into that core philosophy. There are young people on the streets right now who don’t have those basic needs met, and SAY is working diligently to solve or resolve issues like not having a place to live and having food. Their efforts help a young person to focus on becoming active in the community, getting a job and pursuing an education.”
In addition to their $100,000 donation to the SAY Dream Center, Redwood Credit Union has pledged to provide free financial education to SAY youth. Robin explains, “Every one of us needs to know how to manage our money.”
Redwood Credit Union’s Bite of Reality program is a big hit with our youth. It’s a fun and interactive financial education program that helps youth learn real-life money management. In addition to SAY, RCU hosts Bite of Reality events for youth around the North Bay.
Founded in 1950, Redwood Credit Union is a full-service financial institution providing personal and business banking services to anyone living or working in the North Bay or San Francisco.
