As a partner in California’s first-annual Manage Your Money Week, Redwood Credit Union (RCU) will offer a free money management workshop for the public on Thursday, Oct. 23 from 6 to 7:30 pm at its offices located at 3033 Cleveland Ave. in Santa Rosa.
No registration is necessary for the event, which will educate attendees on topics such as setting financial goals, making smart credit choices and choosing good auto loans.
The event will be one of dozens throughout California during the inaugural Manage Your Money Week, from Oct. 18 to Oct. 25. Modeled after the Chicago Federal Reserve’s Money Smart Week, the statewide program was created under the office of California State Controller John Chiang to promote community organizations that provide free financial education to the public.
“We've spent years teaching people how to successfully manage their money at RCU, and we’ve seen firsthand how that knowledge can change lives,” said Lee Alderman, Assistant Vice President of Training and Financial Literacy at RCU. “This effort by the state will help more people learn about the educational resources in their communities, and we’re proud to do our part.”
