PG&E's 2016 "Better Together STEM" Scholarships

Guidelines

Pacific Gas and Electric Company and The PG&E Corporation Foundation (collectively, "PG&E") are offering Better Together Scholarships for undergraduate study to students who are PG&E customers.

The program is administered by Scholarship Management Services, a division of Scholarship America. Scholarship Management Services is the largest U.S. designer and manager of scholarship and tuition reimbursement programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals.

Before beginning the application process and to better understand theBetter Together Scholarships, please read the following guidelines and instructions.Print this information and keep on file for reference of program procedures and important dates.

Who is eligible?

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be a minimum of 16 years of age and be a high school senior or graduate, have received GED certification or be a current postsecondary undergraduate student.
  • Be a PG&E customer (based on current copy of bill).
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire 2016-2017 academic year pursuing first postsecondary degree.
  • Must be pursuing a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) disciplines.

NOTE: Nontraditional students who are returning to school or planning to pursue a postsecondary education for the first time are eligible and encouraged to apply.

How do I apply?

Only online applications via this website will be accepted. You, the student, are responsible for gathering and submitting all required information. This is a competitive program. Your application is evaluated on the information supplied; therefore, answer all applicable questions as completely as possible. Read and follow the instructions provided for each section of application.

Before registering, you may wish to gather the following information needed to submit your application:

  • Parent or alternate contact's telephone number and email address
  • Student's transcript of grades (or GED record)
  • Work history
  • School and community activities
  • Short statement of student's educational and career objectives
  • Financial information from the most recently submitted tax return
