Midstate Construction Completes Redwood Business Center in Petaluma

August 2015

Owner Basin Street Properties, general contractor Midstate Construction Corporation and tenant Cyan, recently completed construction and tenant improvements of the Redwood Business Center Building A2 at the Redwood Business Center in Petaluma, CA.

Designed by Dennis Kobza & Associates, Inc. of Mountain View, CA, The structure is a composite concrete tilt panel and structural frame with bar-joist roof trusses. A composite floor system consisting of metal deck and concrete infill connected to the steel inner frame serve as the elevated floors. Interior columns are spaced 27 feet by 40 feet apart on the lower floors, creating large open floor plates of about 20,000 square feet for office space per level. Two hydraulic elevators, a main entry stairwell and two exit stairwells provide vertical access. Slab-to-slab heights of 14 feet between floors allow for high ceilings.

The third floor has a pair of balconies of 1,600 square feet in area. These allow views to the hillsides in all directions. A 53-foot long by 12-foot wide bridge connects with the third floor of the adjoining building. The bridge has views through tall windows lining both sides.
