Hanson Bridgett LLP is pleased to welcome Douglas Armstrong and Samir J. Abdelnour to the firm. The firm has added a total of 10 attorneys since January 1.
Doug Armstrong, Of Counsel, joins the firm's Health Section. Doug previously served as Senior Vice President, Assistant General Counsel for Atria Senior Living, a role he held for more than 17 years. During much of this period, Doug served on the CALA Board of Directors and Public Policy Committee. Prior to joining Atria, Doug served as Vice President, General Counsel of ITT Federal Savings Bank, handling all legal matters relating to commercial and real estate lending programs and retail branch banking operations. Doug also served at Fidelity Financial, Inc. as Vice President, Senior Counsel supervising all legal transactional matters and claims litigation.
Doug received his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Yale University.
Samir Abdelnour is an associate in the San Francisco office's Government Section. Samir focuses his practice on environmental and commercial litigation and compliance counseling. His experience includes counseling clients regarding state and federal environmental land use statutes and regulations, including CEQA, CERCLA, and Proposition 65; representing clients in prosecution and defense of claims for recovery of environmental clean-up costs and related damages; representing clients in state and federal litigation and administrative enforcement proceedings; and representing clients in disputes arising out of business and commercial contracts. Samir joins on the heels of hiring environmental expert Davina Pujari and counsel Christopher Jensen, in a move to grow the firm's environmental practice.
Samir received his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2010 and his B.A. from The University of Texas at Austin in 1997.
